The Gathered Heading style is also referred to as a cottage pleat. This style gives a traditional yet informal look to your curtains and can be used with most fabric styles.
With these gathered curtains, you can either use a track or a pole. A pole will be visible whereas tracks are recommended for if you want a more discreet look.
Pencil Pleat is the most common of all headings and is the modern version of standard tape or ruffle tape.
A heading tape is Stitched to the top of the fabric and then the cords which are connected to the tape are pulled up to
Ruffle the Fabric to create the Pencil Pleat.
This heading can be found on every pre packaged curtain available but is still sometimes made to measure or bespoke using exclusive fabrics.
This heading is also used for most commercial applications, due to its speed in making up the curtain.
The down side to the Pencil pleat heading is the curtain stack back is very large compared with other heading styles.
Some designers and colour consultants do not understand the pencil pleat heading as they often specify this heading if a pelmet or valance is going to be used, as they think that as the heading is not going to be seen it is OK to use,
but the pencil pleat heading has the worst dressing record, as is very difficult to keep neat and tidy.
On the positive side of this heading, if you want a messy look or a very old traditional look then the pencil pleat heading is for you or if you have a second home and want to keep the cost to a minimum.
Pencil Pleat is nearly always Machine Made and not hand made.
Wave offers a more contemporary curtain presentation.
What makes the wave heading so unique?
When completely closed or part open, the curtains offer a smooth, continuous Wave effect.
The wave heading stacks back neatly, taking up less space than traditional pleated headings.
Depending on the fullness selected, Wave can be as economical as standard 1″ Tape but much more stylish.
How it works…
A special glider cord is contained within the track or pole which limits the extension of the curtain fabric, creating a smooth and continuous wave effect.
The Pinch Pleat Heading is the most Popular of all headings.
It is a very neat and tidy style of heading which can be dressed into a number of different ways, you can have double pinch pleat, triple pinch pleat or even Quad pinch pleat.
The Goblet Heading is a very decorative style of heading and can be dressed in a number of ways.
The fabric is made into a cup style and padded out to keep its shape.
This is a very formal and traditional style of curtain heading.
Various Trimmings can be added to create a luxurious design to your new curtains.
The Eyelet Heading curtain is a modern style for our modern living, which allows the curtain pole to pass through the actual curtain making the pole rings redundant.
There are different sizes and colours of eyelet ring to choose from, for the different size of curtain and pole.
This is a very neat and tidy stlye of curtain heading, with very little daily dressing needed.
Metal Poles are the best to use for Eyelet Heading as the Eyelet ring which is fixed in place in the curtain, will glide over the pole whereas wooden poles are soft so the Eyelet ring mixed with the weight of fabric will dent the wood, or Grab the wood making it almost impossible to pull the curtains.
Tab Top Heading is mainly used to create Decorative or Dress curtains as the heading is not very functional as the fabric does not glide across the pole as a pole ring would.
The Tab Top heading can be hidden under a pelmet or valance or left open as a decorative feature.
The Tab Top heading has been revived in the past years as a new a decorative heading for Roman blinds.
